Watching sunset at Olympic Sculpture Park

Background

I have read a lot of the Olympic Sculpture Park on the news but have never personally visited the place.  Last weekend, our family decided to find the best place to watch sunset and the Olympic Sculpture Park comes into my mind since the park faces the puget sound.

The Olympic Sculpture Park is a public park in Seattle, Washington that opened on January 20, 2007.[1] The park consists of a 9-acre (36,000 m2) outdoor sculpture museum and beach.[2] The park was designed by Weiss/Manfredi Architects, along with Charles Anderson Landscape Architecture and other consultants. It is situated at the northern end of the Seattle seawall and the southern end of Myrtle Edwards Park.  -- wikipedia

Getting There

I would not have been able to get there without my Windows 7 Phone.  Following the Phone Map App's precise instruction, I arrived outside Olympic Sculpture Park.  I am not sure where to park my car and went the loop twice.  In the end, we parked at the road side.  Given that it was a Sunday, it's free!  Love it!

It was a short walk to the Olympic Sculpture Park.  However, it was also a very quiet sidewalk.  Somehow, we just don't felt safe walking on it.  The feeling was even stronger coming back when it is dark.

Entering the Park

We entered the park through the PACCAR Pavilion.  There was a wedding party go on.  All the best to the newly wed couple!  Olympic Sculpture Park is indeed a very romatic place to have once in the lifetime wedding.

The Park

The Olympic Sculpture Park has actually an inverted "N" shape path (Blue Line).  To make it more interesting/unique, it is sitting on top of Elliott Ave and a railway track (Lime Line).  That is not all, they have quite a number of red chairs for visitors to sit down and enjoy the puget sound. (Red Cross).  That is what people did there!  There were couples enjoying their moments.  There were groups enjoying each other company!  There were individual who is taking all this themselves.  Wow!  What a park!  This is not all, there are also many sculptures as well which we did not have time to explore because we spent all our time taking in the views....   This is definitely a park we will be back!
